A trip to Valle de la LUna or 'Moon Valley' is definitely worth considering. You should take water with you and wear good shoes. To get there, take a minibus A from Prado or Micro 11 from Sagarnaga and ask the driver where to get off. Taxis there are $6. Many agencies organize tours that includes the valley, but you only have time to take some photos.
